Artwork Description

A solitary tree stands beneath a vast blue sky where weather gathers quietly across the horizon. Soft light moves through the clouds while the land rests in muted tones, creating a sense of pause in the landscape. The painting captures that suspended moment when the air feels still and the sky holds its breath before the weather shifts.

In The Still Blue, Lucinda Leveille explores the emotional atmosphere of the Australian landscape rather than its literal detail. Broad skies, restrained colour and quiet space allow the viewer to experience the land as a place of reflection and distance. The deep blues of the sky contrast with the gentle earth tones below, creating a balance between drama and calm.

Like much of my work, the painting sits between realism and abstraction, focusing on the feeling of weather moving across open land. The solitary tree becomes a quiet anchor beneath the immense sky, a small witness to the changing light and the vastness of the landscape.

The painting will be carefully packaged for its journey to its new home, ensuring it arrives in perfect condition.

If this piece isn’t quite perfect for your space, I am more than happy to discuss a commission based on this painting, allowing you to create a personalized work of art that captures your vision.

Artist Bio

Lucinda Leveille is an Australian landscape artist based in Queensland, known for atmospheric oil paintings that explore weather, stillness, distance and the emotional presence of place.

Working primarily in oils, Lucinda creates original landscape paintings shaped by memory, light and the quiet tension of changing skies. Her work often features clouds, trees, open land, distant roads and weather-filled horizons, sitting somewhere between realism and abstraction.

A graduate of the National Art School in Sydney, Lucinda has painted for many years and has exhibited widely, with work held in private collections across Australia and overseas. She has been recognised as one of Bluethumb’s Top 50 artists, placing her among the top-selling artists on the platform.

Her paintings are created as one-of-a-kind originals, with no prints or reproductions. Each work is developed slowly through layers of oil paint, colour, atmosphere and feeling, offering collectors a quiet place to arrive within the landscape.
