Artwork Description

Every spring there comes a morning when it seems to happen almost overnight. One day the branches are bare, and the next they carry a cloud of violet blossom. Familiar streets are transformed, and for a few short weeks the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

When The Jacarandas Return grew from that moment. Rather than celebrating the brilliance of the blossoms alone, this painting explores the quiet contrast between fleeting colour and an approaching storm. The luminous jacaranda stands beneath a deepening sky, holding its place as the weather gathers.
