Silvereyes are a native Australian bird and they don't mind taking advantage of introduced plants, so they can often be observed in gardens. In this case, I have painted the bright yellow flowers of the laburnum. This plant provides a contrast to the more muted and subtle colours of the birds.
Watercolour and gouache on conservation board. The painting is framed behind glass with a double mount and a wooden frame, complete with D-rings and wire.
