While I am very familiar with the Eastern Spinebill which inhabits my native garden, the Western Spinebill is not exactly a local! While in Western Australia last winter, I was able to observe this species amongst the many and varied wildflowers. I have painted it on one of the numerous species of kangaroo paw found in the West.
