Bushwalking is a wonderful way to exercise and observe the bush. The colours, shapes and feelings provoked this contemporary painting without copying the actual landscape. my aim was to exaggerate the colours without losing the muted palette and beauty of what I saw. The work was created from memory in a studio, without photos, remind , feel and experience the quiet heat of the bush.

Artist Bio
Manon S. contemplates the irresistibilityβ the necessity and absurdity of social behaviourβ attempting to create a mis-en-scene which intrigues and the central figures are busy being themselves. The concept of relationships; the curves and volume of bodies and heads; the angles of architecture denoting space and depth fascinate her. She is attracted to painting seascapes, landscapes and trees and people.
A visual artist, she now lives on the south coast of NSW, Australia and is greatly influenced by her surroundings . Painting and printmaking have been the main techniques of her art practice and she considers drawing a fundamental aspect of her work.
Born in The Netherlands, she followed her husband's career and lived with her family in Mexico, France, Sweden and Poland where she practiced and exhibited her work.
After her marriage ended, she stayed in Poland for quite a few years and created a studio space in a derelict building (studio MARMALADA) . It was astonishing with wonderful light and a lot of space which gave her the possibility to work on larger canvasses and curate large exhibitions with other artists . It became well known around Warsaw. ( see YouTube : Manon S and friends, Manon S 'Things' ,Manon S Noc Muzeow, Manon S -Studio MARMALADA).
Now that she's back in Australia with her family, she's working on small and medium canvasses ; also on paper with watercolour or mixed media.
