Dusk and plenitude describes Gardners Creek, an area near Marco's home, at dusk. This is a time when darkness begins to overtake the last light of the day and forms and space become fluid and uncertain. The painting combines looser marks and textures with tighter descriptions of forms such as trees. The work describes and experience of the space while also using colour to express an emotional affinity with the landscape. Marco's young son, wearing a white bicycle helmet, is visible in the middle distance on the right.

Artwork Description
Artist Bio
Having grown up in country Victoria, Marco Corsiniβs paintings display an affinity with the Australian landscape. Often painted in-situ, the works explore the unique spacial and visual experience of the landscape. They combine a keen perception of space, light and texture with an extensive understanding of painting to create unique works. His art can frequently be seen to shift between areas of loose abstraction into areas of detailed observation that echo the sense of passing through that which is observed in part but never full perceived. When the figure appears in his work it also maintains a similar tension as it shifts between distance and detailed intimacy. Marco is the founder and Director of Melbourne Art Class. Marco is also the Chief judge for the 2021 Camberwell Art Show.
