All art by Margaret Westcott

This is a semi abstract painting of flowers. The flowers are painted expressively and brush strokes are important to this process of abstraction, What happens colours are revealed through the brushstrokes of darker or lighter colour. The background is a number of shades of blue green, they suggest a vase and direction of light.Three pieces black and white with orange. Each piece 20 x 20 relates to each other and overall creates one art work. This is a painting of strong colours. The Background of many yellow, green and muted red tones. The trees are in darker tones of grey blue and mauve. The trees are suggested and move with an upward view. Kangaroo Paws set on a black back ground. Composition is only showing the flowers on the plant and a few leaves. The bright yellow used has created a visual impact.
