Victoria Street

Victoria Street follows my captivation with lines building up form over time. The painting has gone through several iterations to get to this point. The inner area of smaller brush strokes at one stage covered the entire surface. The title Victoria Street comes from the name of a street I lived in.

I am a visual artist with a hidden disability. I mainly paint in oil on canvas. My works celebrate the process of painting, embracing changes, accidents, and discoveries made along the way. For as long as I can remember I have been interested in lines in artwork. This interest has distilled to a point where I am painting only in lines. Lines come in many forms‚ the brush stoke‚ the mark‚ calligraphy. I love the way the patterns of lines build up‚ they merge from fields into traces of energy. I am interested in the harmonies and the joining of form and the different scales at which the lines form pattern.
