Horst displays my fascination with lines built up in layer upon layer. The paint resolved early in the process so there is much of the underlying background evident. The ground is a silver grey. The topmost layer of white lines suggests a depiction of an outline, perhaps a torso, however the painting is abstract. Lines travel from edge to edge in this painting. This evokes a grid that echoes the edges of the picture plane. The title Horst comes from a naming convention of random geological features.
