Lance Lloyd

Lance Lloyd follows my usual interest in building up form with the addition of patterns of lines. The canvas gets its title from my maternal grandfather. The painting uses earth colours of yellow ochre and red browns under black and white lines.

I am a visual artist with a hidden disability. I mainly paint in oil on canvas. My works celebrate the process of painting, embracing changes, accidents, and discoveries made along the way. For as long as I can remember I have been interested in lines in artwork. This interest has distilled to a point where I am painting only in lines. Lines come in many forms‚ the brush stoke‚ the mark‚ calligraphy. I love the way the patterns of lines build up‚ they merge from fields into traces of energy. I am interested in the harmonies and the joining of form and the different scales at which the lines form pattern.
