This painting follows my usual interest in building up layers of lines. There are symbol elements in the mix and colours generally darkening towards the edges to create focus. Being odd dimensions, this canvas would suit a narrow space.

My works celebrate the process of painting, embracing changes, accidents, and discoveries made along the way. For as long as I can remember I have been interested in lines in artwork. This interest has distilled to a point where I am painting only in lines. Lines come in many forms‚ the brush stoke‚ the mark‚ calligraphy. I love the way the patterns of lines build up‚ they merge from fields into traces of energy. I am interested in the harmonies and the joining of form and the different scales at which the lines form pattern.
