Artwork Description

Influenced by the traditional Filipino game called "Luksong Baka" (Jump Over the Cow). The main goal is to jump over the "Baka" without falling over.

The intention of this painting is to bring childhood nostalgia and to remind us that we can still have fun without any toys, gadgets or digital devices... that we can still enjoy the simple things and take our time losing, winning, laughing and being silly.

About the Artist: Kaye Meana

Kaye is an Adelaide Hills-based artist with Filipino background. Her art is a mix of figures, florals, nature and still life with a contemporary approach.

Kaye Meana was born in the Philippines, 1987. She moved to New Zealand to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse and it wasn’t until she moved to Australia where her artworks started to soar. She lives and works in South Australia. Her paintings varies from figurative studies, florals and portraits. She is mostly drawn to nostalgic and expressive subjects.

Although she continues to work in the nursing field, she hopes to create more art, make it as accessible to others as she possibly can and someday be able to paint full time.
