Silent Retreat

Each chair is dressed with a neatly rolled blue pillow, ready for a day of unwinding. Towering between them, a navy umbrella casts a cool, inviting shade, like a calm guardian on a sleepy afternoon. Surrounding this little haven, the foliage flirts with touches of autumn warmth, while the sky above holds a gentle, cloudless blue—inviting you to breathe deeply and simply be. It’s a scene that whispers relaxation, beckoning you to slow down and savor the sweet stillness of a peaceful retreat.

Melinda Patrick began developing her art when she was a very young child. Her paintings are her vision of the places she loves, the colorful cityscapes and ordinary people that catch her eye.

Melinda is a native Houstonian but received her BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. She was mentored from an early age by her grandfather, a painter, photographer and graphic designer. She goes back and forth to paint between a pine forest near her native Houston and the Texas Hill Country.
