These sardines were sitting in a tub at my local fishmonger, freshly caught. Sardines are delicious, especially on toast. I’ve really only seen them squashed in a tin and not noticed the pretty colours of their scales. There is a character about them too. So here they are sitting pretty in pink.
I used an outline again as a nod to Japanese woodblock, which I find emphasises the colours of the subject painted.
