Artwork Description

This piece won Honorable Mention, it was created in 1984. Marking an early exploration of form, light, and emotion thru meticulous hand rendered detail. As one of my earliest completed works, this portrait represents a foundation of my artistic journey even today as my style has evolved into more botanical and nature inspired subjects, this P stands as both a finished artwork and a reflection of artistic beginnings where technical focus and creative instinct first came together. This piece was created during my senior high school year, even though I had a rare natural God-given talent for art, I was able to create this pointillism during some time off. I had because of a an emergency surgery. Afterwards, I brought this in to show my art teacher in class. After many years, I have gone back to my roots and am creating art again. This stippled portrait has a raw cinematic energy that would immediately ground a room because it relies on high contrast, lighting and intricate texture rather than bold color, it acts as a visual anchor without overwhelming other decor. The subject creates a confrontational beauty placed in a minimalist setting it draws the eye instantly

Artist Bio

I’m a self taught botanical artist who work reflects a lifelong connection to creativity, resilience, and the beauty of the natural world. my artistic journey began in high school, where my natural talent and attention to detail first took shape. Early on I created, intricate pointillism portraits, that foundation continues to influence my art today now expressed through softer, nature inspired compositions. My work is rooted in desire to bring a sense of calm, warmth and environmental peace into the home – aren’t that not only decorated the space but transforms how it feels.
