Artwork Description

This artwork presents a young woman stopping to smell the flowers. A metaphor that encourages people to take time out from their busy lives to appreciate the simple things in life. I wanted to capture this feeling of peace using textured dobs of paint to capture the impressionistic pattern of the flowers.

Artist Bio

New emerging artist. Michael was born in Brisbane and moved to the Gold Coast where he found a love for painting local scenes in his own unique style. Inspired by the impressionist like VanGough and Monet he uses a flurry of textured oil painted brush stokes combined with vibrant hues to capture light and create poetic dream-like images where every brush stroke is interesting to look at.

A qualified graphic designer, illustrator and a Member of the Royal Queensland Arts Society in recent years he has won several minor art competitions.
Michael continues to develop his style and hone his skills with his paintings of familiar Gold Coast scenes to invoke a feeling of serenity and beauty.
