This artwork brings together an English play and a Japanese story of the red string.
According to Japanese legend, there is an invisible red string tied around a person’s little finger. It connects two people destined to be lovers, regardless of time, place or circumstance. The invisible red string may stretch, twist or tangle but never break.
I combined ‘the red strings’ with Shakespeare’s play, ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’. Four people are in the woods. There are also fairies and craftsmen there. When the madness of the midsummer night was over, there is a happy ending...
