Artwork Description

I live on a beautiful island within the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, Queensland, called Coochiemudlo. We have natural vegetation surrounding the island called The Emerald Fringe, within the fringe we have paths that lead onto our pristine beaches, this is just one of them.

This piece is unframed. It will be shipped taped to a piece of backing board, glassine paper is then taped over the image and a piece of backing board on top so that the painting is sandwiched together tightly so that no movement occurs, the tape is easily taken off so that you can take a look at the work and then I highly recommend taking it straight to a framer sandwiched together.

I welcome any inquiries for commissions of your favorite landscapes or still life .

Artist Bio

Based on Coochiemudlo, a smaller island situated approximately a kilometre off the coast of Queensland, between Brisbane and North Stradbroke Island, Millie, an award winning artist, is innately influenced by the abundance of foliage and wildlife that inhabit her locality.
Unbound to a sole medium or creative methodology, her depictions align with the subject’s intrinsic elements and resonance. Millie paints in a way that depicts her thoughts and feelings of the subject, which has helped her tremendously throughout her adult life and experiences.
“There is no grief as you embrace and involve yourself deeply within the subject of your painting,” Millie states after the passing of her only son in 2003. “Painting was a lifesaving form of comfort at the time of my son’s passing, and continues to be up to the present moment.”
Millie possesses a BA in Fine Arts from Charles Sturt University and a Masters in Art Therapy from the University of Queensland.
