We have beaches surrounding our little island and there are intervals of walkways where we can go down to the sand. Lots of trees and foliage abound, such a beautiful walk throughout the day.
Self isolation is quite normal for artists but during this time of self isolation because of the Covid-19 virus one appreciates the fact that we could have socialised if we had wanted to, it's a different story not being allowed to go out and not seeing many people out and about.
This painting is about a place on the beach on the island where I live, where residents and visitors long to walk again, not long now!

I live on the SE Queensland coast of Australia and I love to paint with Soft Pastels. Australian natives within our landscape are abundant and they give me so much to include within my paintings. This particular piece depicts just one of the paths that lead our community members and visitors down toward our pristine beaches and breathtaking seascapes.
This painting is not framed but carefully packaged for safe travel to your home or framer of your choice.

Based on Coochiemudlo, a smaller island situated approximately a kilometre off the coast of Queensland, between Brisbane and North Stradbroke Island, Millie, an award winning artist, is innately influenced by the abundance of foliage and wildlife that inhabit her locality.
Unbound to a sole medium or creative methodology, her depictions align with the subject’s intrinsic elements and resonance. Millie paints in a way that depicts her thoughts and feelings of the subject, which has helped her tremendously throughout her adult life and experiences.
“There is no grief as you embrace and involve yourself deeply within the subject of your painting,” Millie states after the passing of her only son in 2003. “Painting was a lifesaving form of comfort at the time of my son’s passing, and continues to be up to the present moment.”
Millie possesses a BA in Fine Arts from Charles Sturt University and a Masters in Art Therapy from the University of Queensland.
