Artwork Description

This image is a vibrant, impressionistic painting of a lush garden scene filled with a variety of colourful flowers. The background is a clear, bright blue sky, which contrasts beautifully with the bold colours of the flowers in the foreground.
The flowers are painted in a loose, expressive style.
Prominent colours include:
1. Deep magenta and crimson red for the taller flowers in the background.
2. Soft pinks, whites for the more delicate, rose-like blossoms scattered throughout the middle.
3. Bright green leaves and foliage that add freshness and balance to the composition.
4. Rich magenta lilies or large blossoms dominate the lower part of the painting, drawing the viewer's eye.
Overall, the painting conveys a lively and joyful atmosphere, reminiscent of a blooming spring or summer garden. The artist uses bold colour contrasts and energetic brushwork to create a sense of movement and abundance.

Framed with an oak frame.

This piece comes with a certificate of authenticity and has a satin varnish finish.

Artist Bio

Based on Coochiemudlo, a smaller island situated approximately a kilometre off the coast of Queensland, between Brisbane and North Stradbroke Island, Millie, an award winning artist, is innately influenced by the abundance of foliage and wildlife that inhabit her locality.
Unbound to a sole medium or creative methodology, her depictions align with the subject’s intrinsic elements and resonance. Millie paints in a way that depicts her thoughts and feelings of the subject, which has helped her tremendously throughout her adult life and experiences.
“There is no grief as you embrace and involve yourself deeply within the subject of your painting,” Millie states after the passing of her only son in 2003. “Painting was a lifesaving form of comfort at the time of my son’s passing, and continues to be up to the present moment.”
Millie possesses a BA in Fine Arts from Charles Sturt University and a Masters in Art Therapy from the University of Queensland.
