Minhan Cho, a native of Korea, initiated his artistic journey through pottery studies at Seoul National University of Technology. His creative pursuits expanded upon his relocation to Melbourne in 2009, where eight years in the furniture-making industry coincided with an exploration of drawing and painting—a period instrumental to his evolving artistic voice.
In 2018, Minhan's relocation to Moreton Bay marked a transformative moment, enabling him to fully immerse himself in nature and pursue a dedicated career as an artist. The diverse landscapes, from country to coast, became the dynamic backdrop for his plein air explorations.
Minhan views art as a powerful tool for understanding the world. His artistic evolution, influenced by diverse experiences, uniquely shapes his approach. While craftsmanship remains part of his journey, Minhan now focuses on developing techniques that yield distinctive textures and honing a visionary perception to capture the essence of his subjects.
Deeply inspired by post-impressionists, Minhan pays homage to their mastery in expressing lights. Their influence is evident in his work, where he skillfully captures the play of light and shadow, infusing each piece with a dynamic energy that brings the scenes to life.
Minhan's landscapes, born from self-guided mastery, invite viewers to share in his distinctive worldview. From the studios of Seoul to the workshops of Melbourne, Minhan's art finds its full expression under the open skies of Moreton Bay.
