Artwork Description

"A Couple of Blue Gums in the Country" was inspired by one of our lovely drives into the great outdoors on the lookout for lovely scenery with stunning colours. Another Australian landscape with Eucalyptus trees, shrubs and grasses, enjoying fresh country air. Certainly does something to calm ones soul. I enjoy working with thsee wonderful fresh looking range of heavily pigmented pastels.
Original painting created in February 2025. Signed on the front. Requires mat and frame for protection.
Professional Artist quality Pan and Soft Pastels on Art Spectrum Colourfix board.
I made use of the Sennelier Latour fixative during layers to ensure the pastels stay in place.
Styled scene, hanging and in situ setting with or without mat and frame is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this colourful country scene may look on your wall.
Signed Certificate of Authenticity is included.
This pastel painting will be shipped flat, carefully wrapped to prevent any damage, and is ready for you to custom frame to suit your wall and decor.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
