Artwork Description

'A Misty Morning on Sydney Harbour' is part of my Australian Landscapes series.
Inspired by my visit to the beautiful harbour city of Sydney in early winter a couple of years ago. It was still kind of misty in the distance as the sun hadn't quite dispersed the fog over this beautiful harbour city. I love the way the iron posts seem to be leading ones eye towards our iconic Sydney Harbour bridge.
Original painting created in Nov 2017. Signed on the front.
Artist quality Daniel Smith watercolours on 100% archival cotton rag, Arches brand. Presented in a white double mat with foamcore backing, all it now needs is a suitable frame for protection.
Styled scene, signature and Hanging setting with frame is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this perspective of Sydney Harbour may look on your wall.
Double mat size: w57cm x h44.5cm
PLEASE NOTE: Colours can differ slightly from monitor screens, mobile devices and tablets.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
