Artwork Description

Another day out and about enjoying the great outdoors, driving around the Central West of NSW where we came across this lovely peaceful scene in the early hours of the afternoon. "Afternoon Gold" is a vibrant painting of this serene landscape dotted with grazing cows amongst the lush growth of grasses in shades of yellow. With distant hills, fences, a shed and a prominent tree surrounded by grasses and foliage in rich yellows, orange and greens adding interest to this landscape. I really enjoyed using vivid colours and expressive brushstrokes to create this country scene.
Original painting created in July 2022. Signed on the front. Ready to hang.
Artist quality Acrylics on Professional artists stretched canvas, painting continued around the sides.

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
