Artwork Description

"Amaryllis Fantasy" is a fun and quirky flower painted in a loose fashion. Using the synthetic substrate of Yupo paper made it quite easy. Although it's quite challenging at times to work with, it's also fun to use as the paint glides over the surface which results in a somewhat loose painting.
I enjoy creating works on this very smooth synthetic Yupo paper, as it also seems to add a sheen to the watercolours. A friend of mine kindly supplied some images of her beautiful blooming Amaryllis plants to use as references.
Original painting created Nov 2018. Signed on the front.
Artist quality Daniel Smith watercolours on Yupo paper.
Presented in a WHITE single mat with decorative designer groove. All it requires now is a frame of your choice for protection.
Actual artwork size: w28.6cm x h41cm
Styled scene, hanging and in situ setting with or without frame is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this quirky floral artwork may look on your wall.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
