Travelling along the Great Ocean Road, southern Victoria's Coast, one comes across "Apollo Bay Sand Dunes" at Apollo Bay Beach amidst rocky outcrops and sand dunes scattered with tufts of grasses. Just imagine going for a stroll, watching and listening to the waves with their white foam top hitting the sandy beaches and breathing in fresh salty air. So invigorating for one's well being.

So, this painting now has a bit of a history to it. First, we actually got to Apollo Bay doing one of those bus tours from Melbourne, but we only had time for a lunch break before travelling further. Really disappointed in not seeing this beautiful beach myself. Second, a lovely collector fell in love with it last month, but I had to inform the gallery that although I searched high and low for it, even with the help of hubby, but to no avail. I even tried on "Poirot's thinking cap" and thought being acrylic paint it may have stuck to something else. Well, surprise surprise, I found it this morning stuck to the underside of a canvas board I was using to flatten some of my watercolours. Whew!
