Autumn in Hill End

If anyone enjoys seeing the foliage of deciduous trees come alive in autumn sunshine, then the quaint mining village of Hill End is just one of many places to visit during Autumn.
As such, this is another landscape of my enjoying the great outdoors series. It's a fair drive for us but well worth it, especially on a bright sunny day. Beautiful crisp clean air and looking back up the street, past the glowing fall toned poplar trees, just makes my senses tingle. Inspired by the colours of autumn, I enjoyed creating "Autumn in Hill End" using Baohong watercolour paper.
Original painting created in November 2021, updated February 2025 by adding warmer tones. Signed on the front. Requires mat and frame for protection.

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
