Artwork Description

"Bemboka Pastures" was inspired by our trip last year in Autumn, where we spent some time in Tumut and Cooma. We were on our way to the South Coast of NSW and heading towards Bega when I came across these wonderful landscapes of grazing animals on uneven terrain, scattered trees and shrubs with distant ranges and lovely light areas in between. I used a couple of photos to create this landscape.
This was a project I began with a heavy heart in January and finished in March, just in time for the Easter Show in Sydney. An absolute labour of love.
With Thanks to my wonderful supporter of my art and of course the Royal Agricultural Show in Sydney.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
