Artwork Description

"Birds of Paradise" is one of my older floral paintings inspired by the vibrant colours of the great blooms on the Strelitzia plant which grew in my garden many years ago. There were purples‚ blues‚ yellows‚ pinks‚ orange and turquoise and then the large green leaves. I decided to use pigmented inks for the background and then acrylics for the design of leaves and blooms to really make them pop.

Original painting created in Oct 2015. Signed on the front.

Professional Artist quality Art Spectrum pigmented inks and Atelier Interactive Acrylics on gallery wrapped stretched canvas. Sides painted in Sienna Brown in keeping with the colour of the painting. Ready to hang. Would look great in a timber float frame, adding a splash of colour to any bare space.
Styled scene, hanging and in situ setting with or without mat and frame is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this colourful floral artwork may look on your wall.
Finished with Satin Spray varnish for protection.
Signed Certificate of Authenticity is included.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
