Artwork Description

Meet "Black Cockatoo on Teal Blue" is another bird painting of a beautiful Australian native bird, using my new medium of pastels, using pan and soft pastels. These native birds are really stunning to look at and see in the wild, and even though I have been out and about in the great outdoors, I've never actually come across them.
In this instance, I fell in love with the image of a wonderfully coloured female red tail black cockatoo which was kindly supplied by photographer Nadine Dudek.
I enjoy the wonderful fresh looking range of these heavily pigmented pastels.
Original painting created in October 2024. Signed on the front. Requires mat and frame for protection.
Professional Artist quality Pan and Soft Pastels on Clairefontaine Pastelmat.
Styled scene, hanging and in situ setting with or without mat and frame is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this beautiful bird may look on your wall.
Signed Certificate of Authenticity is included.
I used Sennelier Latour fixative during the layering process.
This pastel painting will be shipped flat, carefully wrapped to prevent any damage, and is ready for you to custom frame to suit your wall and decor.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
