Artwork Description

Hearing bird calls of a morning gives me a sense of well-being.
"Blue Mountains Magpies" was inspired by one of our visits to the Mount Wilson gardens open day high up in the Blue Mountains National Park. It was whilst we were strolling around the Cathedral Reserve, where hubby first noticed two magpies sitting on a garden fence with another one carolling as she was about to land. I'd love to know what they were singing about. For me, it was a real bonus seeing these three Australian magpies close by. A lovely landscape with the Blue Mountains as a backdrop and a beautiful garden to boot.

Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
