Artwork Description

"Breenhold Garden Stairs" is just another scene from these beautiful gardens high up in the Blue Mountains National Park in Mount Wilson. I came across this scene as we were wandering along Charlotte's Pass. I was inspired by the fascinating play of light and shadows between the trees and shrubs. I saw this as another challenge working with Yupo paper, a lovely very smooth synthetic paper, which makes it very hard to control the watercolours as they don't sink in but sit on top. The bonus is that being so smooth the colours seem to have a sheen.
Original painting created in June 2021. Signed on the front. Requires mat and frame for protection.
Artist quality Daniel Smith watercolours on synthetic Yupo paper.
Styled scene, hanging and in situ setting with or without white mat and black frame is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this artwork may look on your wall.
Signed Certificate of Authenticity is included.
This painting will be shipped flat, carefully wrapped to prevent any damage, and is ready for you to custom frame to suit your wall and decor.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
