Artwork Description

"Corymbia Ficifolia 'Snowflake" is another of my floral artworks depicting the beautiful dainty white flowers and clusters of small gumnuts waiting to burst open as well as a fair number of slender gum leaves to boot. Inspired by a small twig I found on the way home, I had to take it with me. Took a fair number of snapshots of the twig and couldn't wait to create it on canvas. I intentionally decided to use my recently purchased tube of Ateliers Interactive Acrylics Blue Black as base coat, to enhance the contrasts.
Original painting created in April 2021. Signed on the front. Ready to Hang.
Artist quality Acrylics on deep edge Professional stretched canvas, base colour continued around the sides.
This artwork does not necessarily require a frame.
Styled scene, hanging and in situ setting is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this native floral artwork may look on your wall.
Finished with satin spray varnish for protection.
Signed Certificate of Authenticity is included.
PLEASE NOTE: Colours can differ slightly from monitor screens, mobile devices and tablets.
Even though I used Blue / Black premixed Acrylics, depending on light, the base coat appears to lean towards turquoise.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
