Artwork Description

"Country Retreat" is an Australian landscape inspired by a scene in regional NSW, somewhere along the Princes Hwy on the South coast of NSW. A lovely property surrounded by shrubs and trees giving one the impression one could live there and be well away from the hectic life in the cities. A secluded haven of sorts with a lane leading to the cottage. It appears to be a very secluded and private kind of property surrounded by hedges and shrubs. I fell in love with the white of the buildings and the light blue misty ranges in the far distance and the tranquil vibe originating from it.
Original painting created in September 2017. Signed on the front.
Artist quality Daniel Smith watercolours on 100% archival cotton rag, Arches brand. Presented in a white double mat with foam board backing. All it requires now is a frame of your choice for protection.

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
