Artwork Description

"Spring Sunshine" was inspired by my Clivia plant covered in brightly coloured blooms, one of the first signs that the spring season has arrived, leaving the cold of winter in the past. My painting depicts a couple of vibrantly blooming yellow and orange flowers of the Clivia, set against the greens of the stems and leaves which adds contrast to the orange hue of the flowers. I added a background of rich blues making the colours of the petals and stems pop. With the addition of some textures to this painting and visible brushstrokes makes for a lively and dynamic artwork.
Original painting created in November 2015. Signed on the front. Ready to hang.
Artist quality Atelier Interactive Acrylics with some texture on thin edge stretched canvas. Professionally framed in a simple black float frame.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
