Artwork Description

"Ghost Gum at Hamersley Gorge" is another version of this landscape in the Karijini National Park. Ever since I spent a week in the Australian Outback, I have felt the need to depict this rugged landscape. I love the captivating range of hues of the Aussie Outback and I enjoyed using textures for the rugged cliff faces and gold leaf to highlight where the sunshine hits the cliffs.
Original painting created in April 2019, signed on the front. Ready to hang.
Artist quality Atelier Interactive Acrylics on gallery wrapped stretched canvas painted around the sides combined with textures and various specks of genuine gold leaf as highlights.
For lovers of the colour/color spectrum of the Australian Outback. Simply stunning. Lots of browns,
greens, blues, turquoise, violet, and ochre in this artwork.
Styled scene, hanging setting is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this striking Outback scene may look on your wall.
Finished with Satin Spray varnish for protection.
Signed Certificate of Authenticity is included

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
