Artwork Description

"Gladioli" was inspired by a reference photo kindly supplied by Hilary Weeks. I have always been drawn and inspired by Nature and I love colours. Loving the glow of the morning sun shining on the vibrant colours of the petals of the Gladioli.
Working on Yupo paper is a challenge in itself but I love the fact that because of it's smooth surface, the colours seem to take on a sheen of their own.
Original painting created in June 2017. Signed on the front.
Artist quality Daniel Smith watercolours on synthetic Yupo paper. Presented with a single mat with design groove and foam board backing. All it requires now is a frame of your choice for protection.
Styled scene, hanging and in situ setting with or without white mat and black frame is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this vibrant artwork may look on your wall.
Actual artwork size: w28.6cm x h41cm
Mat size: w44.8cm x h57cm Your choice of frame will increase overall size.
Would add a splash of bright colours to your room, but not suitable for wet or hot sunny areas of the home.
PLEASE NOTE: Colours can differ slightly from monitor screens, mobile devices and tablets.
Signed Certificate of Authenticity is included.
This painting will be shipped flat, carefully wrapped to prevent any damage, and is ready for you to custom frame to suit your wall and decor.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.

"Thank you very much for browsing through my eclectic portfolio".
