"Glowing Cliff Face in the Jamison Valley"' is a painting I had prepared to take part in my 1st exhibition in Katoomba a few years back. We came across the Landslide Lookout on Cliff Drive early on in the afternoon and I fell in love with the glow on the sheer cliff face. Originally without the dark tree trunks, but I had a change of mind and thought that they would add a lovely contrast to the colours of the cliff. I used a palette knife to include them, now adding some wonderful texture.
Original painting created in June 2018, updated in January 2021. Signed on the front.

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
