Artwork Description

Another of my floral paintings using mixed media. Every now and then, I love to splash around with vibrant colours, which bode well for floral work. Very much inspired by Mother Nature.

Yay! 'Happy in Spring' has been given an award in the Special Merit Category by the online gallery Light Space and Time in their All Women Art Exhibition competition with 1005 entries from around the world.
Original painting created in Oct 2017. Signed on the front.
I used Art Spectrum pigmented Inks for the background and Atelier Interactive Acrylics for the floral design, on thin stretched canvas.
This very vibrant artwork was one of three projects I began in Oct by just dropping the various colours of ink onto the canvas. I then covered the surface with glad wrap and by moving it around, the colours mingled a bit. I then left it to dry overnight.
At first glance, I knew that it was going to be a floral design inspired by my Oriental Lilies. The blues, turquoise, purples and pinks just seemed to lend itself to my design. I seem to have a thing going with flowers lately.
Signed Certificate of Authenticity included.
Finished with Sennelier Gloss Spray varnish for protection.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
