Artwork Description

I always find this scene inspiring with it's unusual rock formation situated in the vast Jamison Valley in the heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park. Depending on what time of day and weather conditions, the atmosphere seems to change. On this occasion, the skies were becoming overcast with scattered purplish clouds with parts of the rugged sandstone cliffs seem to glow. "Jamison Valley and the Three Sisters" showing contrasting light and shadow areas in this amazing wilderness that is the Jamison Valley within the Blue Mountains National Park.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
