Meet "Jamison Valley Sunrise". A small painting depicting this iconic scene from Echo Point early morning during the autumn season. I love how the Threes Sisters are still basically in shadow, in stark contrast with the Jamison Valley with the majestic Mount Solitary glowing in early morning light. Barely discernible are the valleys in the distance. No matter what time of day one visits this glorious lookout, the views themselves don't change, but the atmosphere does. We undertook an early morning drive to reach this spot and voila, we came just in time to see how the valley was bathed in misty soft sunlight. One never tires of visiting this World Heritage Listed region with it's stunning views, rugged landscape, and sheer cliff faces surrounding the Jamison Valley with the majestic Mount Solitary as well as the iconic Three Sisters rocky cliff formation. As this is a smaller size, it would suit space just above a desk or sideboard or even display on a small easel. For lovers of all things Nature and the Blue Mountains.

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
