Lachlan River Bank in Shadow

"Lachlan River Bank in Shadow" is another tranquil river scene in my Australian Landscapes series. We were on our way home from southern NSW and took a break in Cowra for a couple of days in the Spring of 2018 and came across this scene early one morning. The bank on the right in lovely shadow and on the other side a faint glow and the reflections fairly urged me to paint this scene. Totally love the sandbanks peeping out above the clear water. For lovers of all things nature and the Central West Region of NSW.

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
