Artwork Description

"Love in Spring" is inspired by the feeling of something new is in the air when the Spring season arrives. One leaves the wet, cold and miserable winter days behind... now is the time for renewal, for all on this planet Earth. One can see and hear it in my garden, where the young birds are chirping away, calling their parents, the plants including my Clivia (where my inspiration came from) has come out in force this year and of course, it's a lovely time for young love, people going more outside to take in the lovely spring days and meeting new like minded people. Always an uplifting feeling of loving warmth as my lovely Clivia plant produces her flush of flowers early spring.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
