Artwork Description

Meet "Magpie Mum - Looking Back, on Iridescent Ruby Red" the 3rd Magpie in my series. I was watching her looking for food for her young ones, a little way up our street early one morning. And, as there were 3 of them, she had a handful checking out where each one was. Papa magpie wasn't too far away keeping a close watch. Strange, but they let me follow them as they moved up the street without being attacked. Just love the background colour. A shame the images don't do the shiny speckled surface of the iridescent medium justice.
Original painting created in November 2022. Signed on the front. Requires mat and frame for protection.
Artist quality Daniel Smith watercolours and Winsor and Newton Iridescent medium on 100% archival cotton rag by Baohong, Master's Choice.
Styled scene, signature, hanging and in situ setting with or without mat and frame is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this sweet Magpie may enhance your wall in your home.
Signed Certificate of Authenticity is included.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
