Artwork Description

Taking some time out to enjoy the great outdoors, we headed west on a beautiful sunny winters morning, decided to turn south over the railway line at Blackheath, heading down into the beautiful Megalong Valley. A haven for horse riders. We enjoyed going for a couple of walks and it was as we were heading back towards Blackheath, where I noticed this sun drenched field of golden yellows, scattered shrubs and gum trees and as a backdrop, the rugged cliffs surrounding the valley, still shrouded in mist and some livestock moving along the distant fence.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
