Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

"Snow Flurries in the Garden" is the result of an experiment using heavy duty upholstery canvas material. To begin with it, I stretched the material quite tight over the bars, followed by several coats of White Gesso, waiting for it to dry between coats. I was quite pleased with the end result. Not only is the canvas quite taut, but also the texture of the material is still rough.
I used Art Spectrum inks to create the base coat and from the result of the inks mingling, I decided that it was going to be another floral work. For the blooms I used Atelier Interactive acrylics, fluid acrylics and in between alcohol inks to add a touch of pizzazz. To create the blooms, I used a blown up balloon as a tool to mix the various colours. Finally, looking at the top of the artwork, reminded me of snow filled sky, so I decided to add fluid white acrylics as snow in early spring.
