"Storm Clouds Approaching Tathra Beach" was inspired by the sign at the entrance stating "Will I or Won't I" which very much reminded me of how I need to feel really hot before I take the plunge into the cool waves. We encountered this on our short break in May 2023. Always full of anticipation, strolling on the way to a new beach, looking for a wonderful time to be had on one of our beautiful Sapphire coast beaches in NSW. Being during the autumn season, it had been a sunny morning but there was a cloud band coming up from the south. So, still enough time to feel the warm sand underfoot and possibly go in for a dip. Obviously, by the many footsteps in the sand, many had already enjoyed their spot in the sun.

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.

For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
