Artwork Description

"Sturt Desert Pea" is another amazing Australian Native flowering plant, well known in Western Australia, a wildflower displaying it's bright colours in the bleak and vast Australian Outback.
Reference photo kindly supplied by photographer Peter G. Pav.
Love the blood red hues of the flowers and the deep contrast of the black centres against a backdrop of sandy soil. Another artwork playing around with the so smooth surface of the Yupo paper, always a challenge as the watercolours can't sink into the substrate, they sit on top and move around till they dry.
Original painting created in December 2018. Signed on the front.
Artist quality Daniel Smith watercolours on synthetic Yupo paper.
Presented In a white single mat with white foam board backing. All it requires now is a frame of your choice for protection.
Artwork size: w35.7cm x h25.5cm
Mat size: w51cm x h40.7cm
All that remains is your personal choice in frame to suit your decor.
Styled scene, hanging and in situ setting with or without mat and frame is for display purposes only and is not to scale. Just to give you an idea of how this Native floral artwork may look on your wall.

Artist Bio

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
