Sunlit Carcoar Village Central West NSW

"Sunlit Carcoar Village in Central West NSW" is another lovely watercolour painting of the Aussie landscape on a sunny Spring morning. We came by this picturesque village on our way home from Albury / Wodonga spring of 2018.
We first visited St Pauls Anglican Church high up along Belubula Street and it was whilst I was walking along the street when I had a glimpse of the disused Carcoar Railway Station in the distance, with it's burnt orange coloured walls shining brightly in sunshine. It was this which inspired me to create this artwork. We parked at the bottom of the hill, next to the Belubula River, where I had a much better view to the railway station. Sadly, this is yet another railway station which has been put to rest in the region. Carcoar still has a lot going for it with it's 19th-Century intact buildings and the St Paul's Anglican church being one of the oldest churches in the state. I was inspired by the stark contrast of the shadow areas around the white drenched bridge posts as well as the background slope in bright sunshine.

This one was awarded a Special Merit by the Light, Space & Time Online Art Gallery in their 3rd 5-5-5 Art Exhibition under it's original title. Out of 1437 worldwide entries, my painting came in at number 42.

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
