Artwork Description

"Sydney: Glimpse of the Sydney Harbour Bridge" is my latest acrylic painting of this icon in Sydney Harbour and will be part of my Sydney Harbour collection. I don't get to visit this beautiful city often, so when I do, wanderlust overcomes me, and out comes the camera and phone. Quite often, I end up in the well known area of The Rocks and as you wander down George Street, at some point looking across to the right, you'll come across this view of the bridge. Beautiful morning light, with a soft coloured sky, using distinctive marks in places where the brush was loaded with various colours as well as pencil marks.
Original painting created in June 2021. Signed on the front.

Monika Scheffler is a Sydney based visual artist who specialises in acrylic and watercolour paintings. She was hooked for life in 2012, when she started participating in various courses to this day, either online, in classrooms and workshops.
Monika draws inspiration from nature and captures its beauty in her realistic to impressionistic style. Her artworks can feature delicate details, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant colours. Her goal is to bring joy and peace to the viewer through her natural landscapes and floral art.
Monika has exhibited her paintings in several group art shows, online platforms as well as a gallery in collaboration with another artist and has won several awards along the way, receiving positive feedback from critics and collectors alike. Some of her notable works include “Blue Mountains – Three Sisters”, “Govetts Leap Blue Mountains”, “Flower Power”, “Manly Ferry Ride at Sunset” and “Autumn Sunshine”.
For this year, in response to the world around us, Monika has set her sights to creating more impressionistic floral artworks, incorporating her love of colours as well as honing her skills with soft pastels after having participated in a workshop in recent times amidst finalising projects she began last year.
